Previously issued guidance, the following is reiterated to assure that all public comments stay within the scope of DOD activities.
3. Units and bases involved may respond to media queries on their specific participation in the humanitarian aid being furnished, they may identify specific units. Numbers of personnel and equipment involved, and the assigned mission of the unit concerned.
4. during interviews individuals should comment only on their personal experiences within the scope of their unit’s mission.
5. questions related to mission priorities, changes or comments beyond previously announced assignments should be referred to appropriate department of state representatives of (illegible)/PA for response.
6. it is recognized and appreciated that all us personnel (illegible) military and civilian involved in this operation are performing admirably under tiring and illegible conditions and (illegible) detract from their heroic efforts.
