MEDIA COVERAGE
As the world began to piece together the tragedy that had occurred in Guyana, journalists from all corners of the world flocked to the small South American nation. According to a December 1978 survey conducted by the Gallup Poll, an estimated 98% of Americans were aware of the tragedy in Jonestown.
This page provides a selection of periodicals and other media coverage on the USAF’s involvement in the humanitarian mission. Those interested in researching additional news coverage of the operation should contact the managers of this project: militaryresponsetojonestown@gmail.com
In the upcoming months, a more comprehensive bibliography and selection of relevant periodicals and media accounts will be added to this section. Thank you for your patience.
