Two statements from an airman at Dover Air Force Base regarding work with bodies from Jonestown
A request for volunteers to work at the morgue was sent to our squadron. Myself and 2 other mechanics volunteered. I worked for 4 hours. Mostly loading bodies into refrigerated semi- trailers after they were identified. I did see bag #13b and the remains of Jim Jones. Also, saw the radio operators children who had their throats slit. Looked as if an autopsy was completed on their chests. After 4 hours at the end of my shift, I reported to a female Lt. [lieutenant] and requested to return to my shop. I did receive a letter from my commander for my participation in the tragedy.
Pulled a 4 hour detail involved moving bodies at the morgue. After returning to morgue from lunch I asked to be released back to my shop. Was given permission to go back to my shop. Did see bag # 13B. Jones body. Radio operator & daughters with necks slit.
